GENIS SAGE And if you have a minute, why don't we go, Talk about it somewhere only we know?
WORDS: idk, TAGS: n/a Somewhere Only We Know by keane, NOTES: it's late, like past two. not the best time to be writing topics, and oh man does it show here. "F-FIRE BALL!"
A blazing flurry of fire raced through the air, lighting up the dark scenery of the cave around it. After a few seconds, it hit the opposite wall of the cave, and disappeared, leaving the small mage alone in the dark again. Genis blinked blankly as the darkness surrounded him again, feeling a cold sweat build up on the back of his neck. That was the second time he had confused a shadow for a monster since entering this cave. The young mage could feel the hair on his body begin to stand on end, and a shiver ran down his spine.
Calm down, Genis. Deep breaths. It's just some stupid cave. You've dealt with much worse before! The boy took in a deep, audible breath, holding it in as he prepared to continue his trek through the small, raised pathway of the cavern. Him and his stupid, child-like curiosity. He had heard rumors about this cave holding a wide array of priceless treasures and, of course, he had to investigate. He wanted to see if the rumors were still true, or if thieves had stolen everything worth taking. Raine would love it is he brought her home some artifact from one of these ancient ships. Speaking of these ships...Genis looked around at all the broken pillars of wood sticking out of the water next to him. They were one of the most eerie sights he had seen. And he thought the Tower of Salvation was a creepy sight! He couldn't imagine the number of wave-beaten that were in those murky depths.
Genis gulped before shaking his head. What was he doing? He shouldn't be afraid of this place! Well, sure, he had no one to back him up if things got bad like he usually did. Maybe I should have gotten Lloyd to come with me... The blue-clad mage sighed, clinging tightly onto his kendama. If something or someone jumped him, he didn't save a chance. Mages weren't exactly known for their quick reflexes. But, there was no turning back now. If he was ever to be strong enough to protect his friends (and Presea), he had to learn to do things by himself.
As he slowly tip-toed down the small raised rock walkway of the cave, Genis's eyes scanned every corner of the area around him. It was so dimly lit, and there were so many shadows. He couldn't tell what was real from what was shadow. A small pout formed on his face. He wished he could just find something so he could get out of here! In a grumpy rage, the young mage let loose another Fire Ball at the wall in front of him as a way to let out his frustration. However, as the fire raced over the water,Genis caught sight of a reflection out of the corner of his eye. It was small, and he wasn't sure if he was seeing things, but he could have sworn he saw something gold in the waters below. Getting down on all fours, the boy peered over the ledge he was on and stared into the water, trying to pinpoint the source of the reflection.
Suddenly, Genis heard a noise from behind him. Taken off-guard, and thinking the worst, he jumped to his feet and unleashed one the quickly spell he could think of towards the source of the sound. He hoped that whatever, or whoever, it was would be scared off after getting a mouth full of water.

Like large wads of cotton strewn all over the earth in a manner that made a blanket just for the ground. The first time he had seen snow it looked so magical. It sparkled and glistened in the sun in a way that made him rush out of the warm house into the cold. Only realizing when he picked up the snow that it wasn't as magical as he thought it was. It was safe to say that only after a few seconds of being there Arty already hated snow. Rather felt kind of betrayed by the innocent looks of the material and began to trod all over the neat blanket before his protectors home in hopes of destroying. Hubert seem to get a great kick out of it and eventually called the elven man away from the snow to a warmer place. He got a sever cold from it and hated the substance known as snow with a passion, but he never bothered to leave the area anyway. Marching through the despised substance that he eventually came to truce with he wraps the scarf around his neck to fend off the tormenting winds. His sword and shield clanking together that made it seem they were shivering in the cold along with their master as Arty moved along the snowy path. The weather did not look to well these days. For some reason it always seems to be snowing constantly and blizzards break out all the time now. He wasn't sure why, but nature just was not in a good mood for the past month. It's not even the time of month were these usual happenings would be semi acceptable. Right now he need to concentrate on the objective at hand. Due to his kindness and need to always do everything that he can for someone he took a woman's concerned plea to head out towards the Shipwreck Memoria to look for a certain child that headed towards the cave. Apparently she had over heard the child talking about going to the cave to find treasure and with the storm slowly brewing she became distraught at the idea of the poor child getting caught in it. So Arty took it upon himself to relieve the woman of her worries and set out to find the boy before something bad happened. Good news this wouldn't be the first time he had traveled to this cave and actually made a map of the inner caves. Well as far as he went to find someone who also came looking for treasure. That usually was the reason why travelers would venture to this place and rarely would it be due to research. Wrapping his cloak around his body tighter, the fur hood more snug around his head, and the scarf over his mouth to keep his face warm as possible. To anyone who looked out towards the direction that he was, he wouldn't be seen. Due to his clothing making him seemed concealed from eye. Seeing the cave happily he quickens his pace to get away from the harsh cold winds. Wearily walking through to see if he could find the child, he passes the many wrecked ships. His blue eyes trailing over the many damaged made to the ships with a slight fascination sadness at the lives that may have been lost. Not to mention that this cave may be haunted. Not that he liked to believe those kind of things, but it always gave him the creeps. Holding out his hand to let a small ball of flame appear in his hand as the darkness starts to enclose around him as he gets deeper, he watches the shadows with caution and his left hand ready to take out his sword in defense at a moments notice. Walking around the poopdeck of a wrecked ship, his eyes quickly flicker towards a moving shape and his instincts take a hold of his as something moves towards him. The flame quickly grows in size as he sends out the billowing flames towards the moving form only to see the fire sizzle out as if water was poured on it. The faint words of 'Aqua Edge' resounding in his ear. The voice sounded very boy-ish and may in fact be the child that he was looking for. Making the flames appear in his hand once more he make it grow so that the light shines on the boy. He's rather short compared to the six foot elf man, and rather scared out of his mind. "It's okay, I'm a guard from Koori." Artemis says in a reassuring manner. If Genis could see Arty's face, he would see a geniune smile, but unfortuantly he looked like a shady character with hardly a part of his body showing. Just his sword jutting from his left shoulder. So he didn't exactly look so warming, but his eyes gave off a warm feel and non-lethal look. Though finally taking off his hood and pulling down his scarf a head full of sunshine blond hair and pointed ears. "Are you okay?"Concern filters on the elf's face as he looks at Genis. The only light coming from the flames in his hand. Genis actually didn't really looked ready for the weather around here and made the guard even more worried about the boy. Which displayed very well on how his dropped along with his frown. credit `` columba of on the edge! | [atrb=width,110px][atrb=style,padding: 20 20 20 0;][atrb=cellpadding,0][atrb=cellspacing,0] then one day, thunder struck
