Thousands of books...surely one would explain how to recreate the portal to return the demon princess to the (now hers) castle.
Prissilla huffed in annoyance, as she read each book fully just by hovering her hand over the cover for a minute. She had tried going back with self made warps, but they just couldn't find a way back for some reason. Perhaps magic worked differently here...
Then was the one who killed her father for the Nether Crystals...no one had ever given the princess such a fight before. She had wondered if they to ended up here,or perhaps even sent her here on purpose.
"Urgh...useless human texts!" Prissilla threw a book to the floor. Frustrated by the lack of progress... she would tear this puny city apart if she wasn't so busy gaining information... which seemed pretty pointless at the moment.
"Anything a human makes is useless...including these so called books."Prissilla muttered bitterly.

:: The city was really quite different from what he was used to. Even though he had grown up in Meltokio, it still seemed incredibly large. It seemed about as advanced as his old hometown, though he noticed subtle differences in their advancements. Of course, their technology could not compare to that of the angels on Derris-Kharlan, and that was what he was most used to. It seemed these mortals truly lacked direction, most likely because of their short lives. Nothing big was ever accomplished with them. With his usual bored expression his gaze swept across the area. Though it was his first time here, he already knew where he was going and what he was looking for. The library. Having seen multiple scholars, children, and common folk clutching books to their chests he knew it was nearby, and obviously it would be in the direction they had all come from. He was always fond of reading, and if he had access to the library he could most likely figure out where he was. And hopefully how he managed to get there. His steps fell quietly against the ground as he walked easily down the pathway, occasionally bumping shoulders with the more stubborn citizens as he claimed the middle of the road as his own. the more intelligent seemed to be curving around him, as it was clear he had no intention of budging. he had gotten quite a few strange looks from the people of the city, though he was used to it by then. he was sure they had never seen traditional mizuho clothes before.
:: It didn't take long for him to reach the ornate building. His lips formed a flat line as his brows slanted over his gaze, his chin tilted upward to take in the sight of the building. Grand library indeed. It was a bit too extravagant for his tastes, but then he supposed the city had reason to be proud of their accomplishments. Such a large library must have had a great number of books, and contain a vast amount of knowledge. Dropping his eyes back down to the over-sized doors he pushed them open and slipped easily inside. It wasn't quite as exaggerated inside as it was outside, which came as a relief to him. His eyes drifted across the room slowly, he really didn't know where to start. However something caught his eye, a little girl in red snarling and tossing the books carelessly to the ground. Being an angel, it wasn't difficult for him to make out what she had said, even from across the room. While her voice was faint, she had caught what he assumed were the most important words. Useless human? He quirked a brow, still standing near the doorway as he watched her for a moment. She seemed too busy with the books to notice that he was watching.
:: Minoru was soon creeping up behind the woman. It was done unintentionally, in his years as a ninja he had learned to move silently without having to put much effort into it. "Anything a human makes is useless... including these so called books." Her choice of words had made him a bit curious, whatever she was she wasn't human. And now that he was close, it was even more clear to him. He could practically feel their holy and demonic energies clashing as he drew near her. Dark and light never did mix well. Most likely she would feel it too, giving away his position before long. He leaned down to pick the abused book up off the floor, brushing his hand across the cover as he peered down at it. Whatever it was about, it clearly had something to do with magic by the title of it. Its binding was rather old, and its pages were weathered. The library must have contained quite a few ancient texts. If they didn't prove to be useful, they would at least be interesting. Carefully he slid the book back into its place on the shelf, slipping his finger down its spine as if to reassure it it wouldn't be treated so violently again. His hooded gaze shifted downward to Prissilla, a disinterested look on his face. He stood wordlessly, his finger lingering at the base of the book's spine before his hand dropped easily to his side. Hopefully she would understand what he was trying to say without him having to speak.

At first Prissilla ignored this nearly souless buffoon. She tore through a good dozen or more books before finally looking over her shoulder slightly, and saying "What is it? Can not a lady read without interruption?"
The princess was fully aware of this mans presence since he entered the building, but why bother with someone like this? The future demon queen had more important things...wait. Prissilla turned to face him, looking a little amused she said "You do realise who your speaking to right? Tell me what you want...and if its about that book your holding...toss it to the garbage. Its rather useless like most everything else here." Prissilla was so bored that she decided to entertain herself with this 'person' for a moment.
Perhaps he had something she could use...most importantly information.
Seeing it was fairly empty here, she walked briskly past her mess of books, and sat at a table nearby it too was covered in books. Some already scanned by her. Snapping a finger two highly decorated tea cups materialised on the table filled with a red 'blood like' liquid. Actually though it was simply a tea.
"Care for a drink my quiet little man." Prissilla spoke with just a hint of sarcasm, she had heard that angels lacked senses... she would test this. She hoped not, as it would make him less fun to tease...

:: What an attitude the young lady had. Though he had approached peacefully he was greeted with hostility. Typical of such a dark creature, he supposed. He should have expected it. The way she tore through the books was somewhat frustrating, whatever she was looking for she must have been desperate to find it. "What is it? Can not a lady read without interruption?" She had a different way of speaking. She must have been some sort of noble. He didn't answer her, he was sure no matter what he said it would be ignored anyway. Minoru hadn't "interrupted" her, he had been careful not to. He had kept quiet, so as not to disturb her, only hoping to catch the corner of her eye so that she understood the books should not be attacked so ruthlessly. His eyes turned back to the shelves, figuring it would be a decent place to start. Like her he assumed there would be something that could explain how he got there, and how to get back home. But from the corner of his vision he could see her turning to face him. Was she not yet finished? She must have been looking for trouble. He turned his head back to focus his gaze on her. There was a glint in her red eyes, he was going to be serving as her entertainment for the afternoon, it seemed. |
:: "You do realize who you're speaking with, right?" His lips bent into a frown. He hadn't spoken. "Tell me what it is you want... and if it's that book you're holding... toss it to the garbage. It's rather useless like everything else here." Her expression wasn't one of irritation, but amusement. Though she must have been angered by the fact she couldn't find the information she needed, she was glad to have the company. Even if it was just to try and get on their nerves. She seemed childish, and not just in her appearance. In the entire arrogant way she carried herself. He could already feel her draining his energy away, though his expression failed to show it. It remained just as calm as before as he watched her in silence for a moment, waiting to see if she would continue. When he realized she had finished speaking he finally replied. "Even seemingly useless objects can prove to be valuable in one way or another. It would be a waste to throw the book away." As she skirted by him, avoiding her rather disorganized pile of books on the floor, his eyes followed after her. He made no move to follow, though he assumed that was what she wanted. She had just asked questions, and he doubted she wanted them to go unanswered. As she snapped her fingers his eyes moved down to the teacups appearing on the table. So this was the power of a demon. Was it possible her power surpassed his own? The idea made him uneasy. He was used to being the powerful one, a divine being surrounded by humans. Now that he was near a demon, he couldn't allow his guard to be down. "Care for a drink my quiet little man?" She sounded as if she was mocking him. :: He stepped over to the table casually, resting his hand on its surface as he glared down at the red drink. Its color was all too similar to blood, however he didn't smell any blood. In fact, if anything it smelled sweet. Was she trying to fool him? He watched her with suspicious eyes. Though he could tell it wasn't blood, who knew just what was in the drink? It had formed out of thin air, there could be anything inside. He wasn't going to risk getting sick from it. "I appreciate the gesture..." He pushed the cup away from himself, being careful not to spill its contents. "However I am fine for now." Seating himself at the table he removed his weapon from his back, allowing it to lean against his shoulder as he hooked his arm around it. The d**n thing always made it impossible for him to sit comfortably. He reached out to pull one of the books toward him, looking down at it for a moment before allowing his eyes to travel back up to her. He took the opportunity to memorize her appearance. If she truly was some sort of celebrity, he would have to remember just what she looked like. His eyes locked with hers again as he began to speak. "I take it you are an important person? I apologize for not recognizing you. I am new to the area." He found tense situations were often easily diffused with a genuine-sounding apology. While he was rarely ever sorry, just saying the word usually put whoever he had set off at ease. She didn't seem angry, far from it, in fact. However he still felt it would earn him some favor if he apologized. She seemed arrogant enough to eat his apology up. "You asked... what I want." He thought out loud, beginning to drum his fingers against the wood. He hated the quiet. His eyes drifted off to the side, examining the pile of books she had left behind. "Information. I don't know much about this place, I was hoping to learn something." His fingers stopped as he looked back at her, his blue eyes lighting up despite his dull expression. "Perhaps you could help me?" While she didn't seem like the charitable type, she did ask what she wanted, and she had provided him with something to drink. Even if it was a rather questionable-looking tea. There was a chance she would be willing to part with a bit of information.[/blockquote]

Prissilla watched him as he dared to refuse her offer, sat and asked her for information. The demon princess had absolutely no clue what this world was about, but if she didn't give some answer she'd look like a fool. How vexing...
She spoke while making a faux expression of great knowledge and self importance, "I see...you wish to partake in some of my incredible knowledge. Well...you are so very pitiful...i'll humor you." Prissilla took a sip of tea as slowly as possible, prolonging her next words...and allowing herself to think of them.
Putting the teacup down slowly, shifted her dress a little and crossing her legs elegantly, she smirked as she continued "This world is locked in a bitter struggle between two great powers, that of light and of darkness...all revolve around the Mana Tree at the worlds center. I honestly don't care what becomes of the puny kingdoms caught in the middle. I shall simply return to my nether throne." She emphasised on her last words in order to get her almighty rank across.

:: She was a fun person to watch, he had to admit. He swore he caught a flicker of irritation locked behind that crimson gaze as he pushed the drink away from him, though her expression remained changeless. She seemed quick to switch from one mood to another, however she wasn't always willing to show her true feelings. Masks. It was going to be a bit of a pain having to deal with her, Minoru preferred when things were made obvious. It made it so much easier to say the right thing. Upon asking for information, he saw a change in her mask. She certainly thought highly of herself, looking at him like that, but if she knew as much as she pretended to then she had every right to think that way. "I see... You wish to partake in some of my incredible knowledge." He was lead to assume she spent a lot of time in that library, did people meet her there often to ask questions? He had to wonder. She was a demon, it was certainly possible she had lived long enough to learn quite a bit. He relaxed, it was a relief. He had found exactly what he was looking for. "Well... you are so very pitiful... I'll humor you." |
"Pitiful?" :: A smirk crept up on his lips as he sat there, patiently waiting her to finish with her tea. Was that what he was? Pitiful? Perhaps, he was stuck in a world completely foreign to him, it was to be expected. Anyone finding themselves in this situation could be considered "pitiful." It was an amusing thought to him. He wasn't the type to get angry over an insult, if she was trying to rile him up she was certainly going about it the wrong way. He straightened in his seat, resting an arm up on the table, allowing his hand to rest on the book in front of him. She was taking her time. While he was glad she was enjoying his company rather than doing her best to get rid of him, it was annoying having to wait so long for what should have been a simple answer. He watched as she pressed the wrinkles from her small dress and shifted slightly in her seat. Just how long was she expecting this conversation to last? "This world is locked in a bitter struggle between two powers, that of light and darkness..." So he had stumbled onto some sort of war? Perfect. He cringed inwardly, the slight smile on his lips fading. "All revolve around the Mana Tree at the world's center. I honestly do not care what becomes of the puny kingdoms caught in the middle. I shall simply return to my nether throne." Minoru immediately understood. If she was being honest, then that would make her royalty. While normally he wouldn't be so quick to believe her, the fact that she could possibly be someone so important made him more willing to play along. The arm resting in front of him lifted to place its hand carefully on his mask, pulling it from his head as he bowed as well as he could in his current position, doing his best to show her respect. "I did not realize you were of royalty." Keeping the mask to his chest he tilted his chin upward, allowing himself to look back up at her. The smile had returned, however it seemed brighter, a glimmer in his blue eyes. It was if he had finally come to life. "Surely your kindness and generosity does not end with that bit of information. You could forgive this "pitiful" man for his ignorance, couldn't you?" Somehow knowing she was royalty put him at ease. Perhaps it should have had the opposite effect. Being the chosen he had spent quite a bit of time with such influential people, he was comfortable with it. He straightened, deciding to leave the mask on the table. :: But something about her answer bothered him. She knew. "I guess it would be obvious to you I am not from this world." He hadn't seen anyone else dressed like him, he stuck out like a sore thumb. But it meant she knew it was possible. Hopefully it meant she could get him back. Normally a person would have answered with a bit of information about the town or the country, she gave him basic information regarding the entire world. Anyone who had lived there long would already know something like that. He wanted to ask more questions, however he didn't want to be rude. Not to someone so important. He would wait a while, throwing another question her way so soon might irritate her.[/blockquote]

Prissilla's smirked even more at the mention of 'kindness and generosity'. Though she was smiling her eyes showed a much different expression...one of hate. This fool doesn't know a thing about the Netherworld, even though it sits parallel to the human world of Sylverant.A place he should know considering him being a angel.
She made a disgusted face and dug her small nails into the table making a surprising claw mark. "Enough of this! You dare think me kind? I am far from it 'angel',you and your kind flocking around in that Derring Karlax or whatever ridiculous name it is called!" she was losing control but couldn't afford to cause any mindless destruction right now.
Grabbing the teacup and nearly crushing it,she drank again...much less sophisticated this time, she then placed it down. Taking a short breath she said, "Father told me of you people, mostly born of half elves and humans... you think the human world is a tool. I disagree, its just completely useless."
She didn't know much, but it seemed useless.

:: Could this girl be any more difficult to predict? Though a smile tugged at her lips her eyes clearly reflected rage. What could he have possibly done to anger her? She just sat there watching him for a moment. "Enough of this! You dare think me kind?!" He could hear her nails carving into the wood as he face twisted in disgust. Minoru leaned back in his chair, the cheer in his expression seemed to disappear in an instant. This was absolutely ridiculous. "I am far from it angel, you and your kind flocking around in that Derring Kharlax or whatever ridiculous name it is called!" |
The response came automatically. "Derris Kharlan." He instantly regretted correcting her. Wincing he sank into his shoulders, drumming his fingers as he grimaced and looked away. She wasn't going to appreciate it, and he was already irritated with her barking at him like this. "Father told me of you people, mostly born half elves and humans... You think the human world is a tool. I disagree, it is completely useless." "Hnn..." He rubbed his temples, tilting his head downward. :: Putting words into his mouth like that. He worked with Yggdrasill, yes, but even though he didn't entirely understand the situation, he knew he didn't agree with what was going on. In a way she was right. To Minoru everything and everyone was a tool. The fact she had insulted his race didn't bother him. She could say what she liked about angels, he had never felt much of a connection to them. Or humans for that matter. He was completely detached. His hand dropped away from his face, his gaze still cast off to the side. "I was not trying to insult you. I only meant I appreciated the information." With narrowed eyes he glared back in her direction. "You are not from this world, are you, demoness?" In her rage she'd given away a bit too much information. She was clearly not a demon from this world if her father spoke of angels on Derris Kharlan. She was here looking for the exact same thing he was. A way home. Why else would they be interested in the same books? Suddenly he grit his teeth and pounded his fist on the table. "D**n it. Are you telling me you're stuck here too?" Twisting his lips in an angry snarl he shoved the book in front of him away. "Tch." All of these books and she was still searching, would it really be any use for him to continue looking here? He slumped forward over the table, resting his elbow on its surface as he rubbed his chin, hardened eyes directed at the wall as he thought. A dead end, where was he supposed to go now?[/blockquote]

The demon princess had nearly enough of this pointless banter. The fool just kept annoying her more by the second. However his last few words were a little pleasent to hear, even though they meant he had nothing to give her in information after all.
Prissilla stood up and stared at the teacups,in a flash they vanished. Running a hand through her blonde hair, she spoke in a bored fashion. "You angels are not as well informed as I had imagined. I have little use for lowly scum that have no purpose. I have found absolutely nothing in this sorry place. Perhaps these books will be more suitable to one of your...level."
Smirking arrogantly she began to walk towards the entrance. The doors swung open on their own as she approached. Right before leaving she said " Ah yes... I never received you name. Well it doesn't matter, i'll be sure not to waste my time with you again."
With that the demon princess in red, made her exit...with hardly any more knowledge then she had when entering.
