Occupation: Hero of the World Tree
WISH UPON A STAR
History:
Carthas lived a troubled life as a kid, his parents weren't what you called, pleasant. His mother was a train wreck, she was always nervous about every little thing and took it out on her son and husband, and Carthas's wasn't an easier case. His father was constantly drunk, and had a bad habit of beating Carthas nearly once everyday. The only family member Carthas could go to that helped him escape his parents was his older brother, Nathan.
As the years went by, Carthas wanted to help his parents get onto a better path for themselves, but all his attempts failed. His actions interested Nathan, who could see the good intentions of Carthas, but knew that their parents weren't going to help Carthas succeed, so he devised a plan. One day Nathan told Carthas he was leaving the family to go on his own journey, much to Carthas's disapproving, but suggested that Carthas come and join him, and get away from their troubled parents. While reluctant at first, the love for his brother made him decide to go with him.
So then Nathan, now age 21, and Carthas, now age 17, set off to find their own paths in life. During this time Carthas received sword training from Nathan, and took an interest in firearms as he purchased a handgun. Carthas also showed some skill with magic, so Nathan helped him study magic, despite having no magic skill unlike his younger brother. As he grew, Carthas turned into a very skilled warrior, almost surpassing his brother in sword skill, and in other physical attributes.
One day, when Nathan was now 25 and Carthas was 21, the two brothers got lost in a sort of woods, they came across the World Tree. Stunned by the discovery, they wondered if the Tree needed something from them, since it was somehow easy for them to find it, even if they did it by accident. While the two tried to figure it out, they decided that they should probably guard the tree, since dark forces seemed to be growing. However, Nathan suggested that Carthas should become the tree's personal knight, though Carthas said Nathan would be a more suitable one, but the tree had other plans. Carthas heard a voice that called to him, it revealed himself to be the tree, telling him that his calling was to be it's hero. While Carthas was unsure of himself being up to the challenge, he gladly accepted, and swore his life to protecting the tree.

INTO THE WEST
Sample RP:
The forest was silent, not a single creature stirred in the great wood. The World Tree of Suiren resided in this great forest, giving the world it's supply of mana, breathing life into every living being. This tree was important, so it needed a protector, and that protector was leaning against the tree, resting. Carthas had his arms crossed and his eyes closed, he was silently meditating, easing his mind. He did this usually everyday to make sure his mind was ready for anything that this duty of his threw at him.
It wasn't easy, but Carthas was able to handle himself. Though there was times when he found himself having trouble, during those times however, he'd think of his brother, the one person who gave him strength. He looked up into the sky and thought, thought about his brother, and wondered where he was now. Ever since he became protector of the tree, his brother had continued on his journey to find his path. He sure did miss him though, good thing Nathan came to check up on him every few months.
I wonder how Nathan is doing, it's been about four months since I last saw him, and something seemed to be troubling him. He loved his brother to death, and it pained him a little to be away from him for so long. Especially now, since he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with his brother. He looked among the clouds in the sky, trying to find a sign that would give him a bit of hope. Brother, please take care of yourself.
