Cold. She was cold.
Freezing cold, to be completely accurate. Though for whatever reason she couldn't fathom. She knew that the temperature would drop what with summer coming to a close, but it shouldn't be this cold around this time of the year. Plus, even if the cold seasons could be particularly harsh in Mizuho, their houses were built well enough to keep them warm. Far warmer then she was right now, at least. So what was going on?
Barely conscious, the female's heavy eyelids slowly slid open, only to give a wince as her vision was flooded with white. What the...? Instantly, the young woman's senses were on high alert, grogginess slipping away as she pushed herself up. Expecting her hand to be met with the soft and plush sensation of her blankets, she was surprised to feel a sharp jolt of cold when her hands met with equally soft but frozen ground instead. Looking down, she scooped up a small pile of the frigid substance to inspect it. Snow? There shouldn't be any snow on the ground this time of the year. More importantly, she shouldn't be outside in the snow either! What was going on?
Moving to stand, Sheena inhaled sharply at the lack of sensation in her legs, nearly falling back onto the ground as she struggled to stay upright. She was practically soaked from laying in the snow, her clothes wet and limbs numb from the amount of time she'd been outside. The question was, however, how long had she been out here? Not to mention why was she here in the first place? Blinking rapidly, the ninja wrapped her arms tightly around herself, squinting off into the distance to try and see if there might be any place near by she could possibly go to. There was... something, out in the distance. She could see the dim glow of lights, but what exactly she couldn't say for sure thanks to all the snow falling around her. Maybe it was Flanoir? But for what reason in the name of Martel was she doing here, if that was the case? Maybe it was some stupid prank done by Zelos or something... Though she hadn't seen Tethe'alla's chosen for quite some time, even with her new job as ambassador of peace between the newly reunited worlds had her visiting Meltokio more then ever now.
Shuddering, the young woman gave another look around, unable to see anything but white save for whatever she'd initially spotted. Seeing as she wasn't helping her self any more by staying here, Sheena started to push her way through the snow and towards the unknown destination. As much as she wanted to panic, she had to keep herself under control for now. At least until she was sure she wasn't going to die from lack of proper weather protection. At least she could feel her seals were still tucked securely on her person, so she wasn't completely without any protection. But nothing around or on her gave Sheena any clues as to how and why she was here, and not back in Mizuho tucked under her blankets like she last remembered. What in the world was happening?

Ayane's head popped out from the bush where she had been foraging for food, it wasn't often that she had to find her own food but times were tough and the cold weather didn't really help things. What was it she just felt? It felt like another being just popped out from thin air, perhaps teleported by some unknown supernatural power. As an Angel it was Ayane's duty to see if the person was hurt and if possible ascertain whether it was good or evil; either way Ayane was back on the job again.
She quickly ate the berries before heading off towards the direction where she sensed the strongest spiritual pressure, she jumped from tree to tree as her normal way of travelling when on the job, a habit she had developed from her days as a Kunoichi, then she perched on a branch to observe a tall woman wearing a ninja suit, that made her happy since that meant that shinobis hadn't been wiped out yet, but at the same time she wondered if there was something about the woman she had yet to know about.
Jumping off from the branch she carefully approached the woman and said, "You seem a little lost...perhaps you were transported here without your consent? it was a simple question and more than enough to keep the girl on her toes and if she was here for bad reasons then her intentions would be clear soon enough.

It was like fighting a losing battle, facing the elements when she was so ill equipped. Even on her trip with Lloyd, Colette and the others they had always been prepared for different weather occasions. Their first trip to Flanoir had been a bit tricky, if only in the sense that most everyone from Sylvarant hadn't any type of cold weather clothes on them (though Regal and Presea hadn't been that much better). Still, they'd had some bare essentials to wear on their way up and then stocked up on better and more suitable garments when they arrived. Right now, Sheena had nothing but what she had fallen into bed wearing last night, and she was already counting her lucky stars she hadn't changed. That didn't explain why she had her shoes on though, but she wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Shuddering as another icy wind blasted her in the face, the ninja twisted her head to the side at the sound of a voice. It was slightly muffled over the chilly wind, but now that she was aware there was somewhere near by, Sheena could vaguely sense a person's presence around her. Brown eyes locked onto another female who was actually clothed a bit similarly to her but appeared to have even fewer layers on her person then Sheena did. Isn't she freezing?, Sheena wondered vaguely, gripping her own wet gloves subconsciously. She didn't let her thoughts linger on the other female's attire for very long however, instead adjusting her hands so that she could pull out a seal at any given moment if need be.
Eying the newcomer warily, Sheena considered whether or not to answer the young woman's question. It was pretty spot on for someone who'd just shown up out of nowhere after Sheena had woken up in... Martel knows where. Maybe this was all a dream or something? It certainly felt surreal enough. But this felt all too real to be a dream – even more so then her old nightmares of Volt. It just felt all too mind boggling to make any sense though, and Sheena was still grasping at whatever senses she had left to constantly check if she really was asleep or not. Judging from the sharp tingling in her extremities, then yes, she was awake, and this was all painfully and alarmingly real.
Shifting uncomfortably in the snow, Sheena lightly bit on the inside of her cheek, pondering how much information she should give to this strange woman. She wasn't exactly in a position where she could defend herself very well, nor was she feeling any better as time wore on. The ninja could hardly even feel her cheeks or ears at this point, and whatever exposed skin she had had a cold burning sensation to it thanks to all the harsh wind. It might be in her best interest to reach out to whomever came across her path – as much as she was against the idea. Eventually, the dark haired woman gave a nod, eyes glued firmly onto the person in front of her.
“Yeah... I'm not exactly sure where we are right now. I'm just trying to get to the nearest town or something...” She mumbled, flexing her hands to try and get some warmth back into them. She had to keep moving, and soon, or else she was likely going to freeze to death out here. She wasn't even going to begin to wonder how in the world the other young woman was able to stay so warm, but whatever the case if she could point Sheena in the direction of the nearest human (or half-elf, elf, whatever really) establishment then she would be fine. Anything just to get out of this cold and try to make sense of this situation. It was hard enough for Sheena to stay awake right now, let alone smother the need to express her trepidation about all of this.

Ayane gave a slight giggle when she heard the woman's voice, it sounded really innocent but at the same time she could tell that the woman would be able to defend herself if the need arose, she circled the woman eying her carefully while making sure not to seem like a hostile entity which the woman would certainly believe Ayane was but all Ayane wanted to do was help the poor woman.
She then stopped right in front of the woman and said, "Well I don't know any establishments that are near here except for a town that's at least a day's trip out there" pointing behind her, "but I can offer you some warmth and comfort at least for the time being...I'm Ayane Hamasaki by the way, what's yours?" she asked.

Sheena watched with a sharp gaze as the woman circled her, doing her best to stay alert despite the growing weight in her eyelids. She felt tired... so tired. It was an effort just to adjust her stance, and her limbs were beginning to feel like deadweights attached to her body. Part of her wanted nothing more than to simply collapse in the snow, if only for a bit of a breather, and regain her strength... No, no. She couldn't go thinking that. If she let herself take even the shortest of breaks she'd never get out of this place alive, she was sure of that. Sheena would just have to suck it up for a little bit longer and figure out from this other woman if there was any type of shelter near by she could use to get out of the cold.
Her hopes dwindled at the other young woman's reply though, eyebrows knitting even further as her body gave another shudder. So those had been real lights she'd seen in the distance but it was going to take that long to reach them? Had Sheena done something wrong to deserve this cruel punishment? She was too tired and frustrated to reply at first, instead opting to furiously rub at her numb arms and hunch further into herself, trying and failing to think of a way she could possibly do this on her own. She didn't like relying on other people's help. Not that she didn't appreciate it, but it never sat right with her when she had to depend on someone. 'Stubborn as a horse', she recalled someone saying. Probably Lloyd, seeing as he was the only person she knew who could butcher up such a simple saying like that.
Sheena couldn't help but give a small smile at the thought. The memory of her red clothed companion calmed her senses a little, fondness creeping into her racing mind despite her dire situation. He certainly had a way of calming her down even when he wasn't there with her, didn't he? Exhaling shakily, the ninja finally let her gaze focus on the other woman once more, already begrudging the words that had yet to fall free from her mouth.
“S-Sheena. Sheena Fujibayashi,” She introduced herself with a weak grimace, which was likely originally intended to come out as a smile. There wasn't exactly a whole lot to smile about in this situation anyway, even with this awkward exchange of formalities. “If you h-have anything on you that could be used as a coat or something...” Sheena paused, struggling with not only with the cold, but to overcome her own desires to deny any help and try to tough this thing out on her own. As if she'd make it five more steps without any assistance. Gritting her teeth, the ninja clenched her hands onto her soggy gloves before forcing out, “I could... really use something to help me warm up. Please.” She felt just about close to dying then and there. Not from the cold - which she was sure would take her out any minute now - but from embarrassment. She could practically see her friends having a big laugh over the idea of her asking for help. Ugh, she had really messed up and upset the wrong higher power today, hadn't she?

Ayane gave a slight smile at the woman’s word, she was liking her more and more by the minute, ”I have nothing like that unfortunately but I do know a cave that’ll keep you out from the cold, some food and warmth. If anything you should also stay in the cave for a while until the storm passes…if not” Ayane gave a slight shrug, ”you won’t last long.”
Ayane thought about the woman, she seemed to be a fighter but not the ones that she know about such as the warrior, rouge etc. she was somehow similar to her own specialization of a ninja. Perhaps that was what Sheena was, a kunoichi, like she used to be but not as talented as Ayane. She simply shook her head and walked for a bit before gesturing with her arm for Sheena to follow her, whether she followed Ayane or not was up to her but she hoped that Sheena did follow her because that would save her the trouble of trying to convince the woman to follow her.

Sheena regarded the woman tiredly, unable to stop wondering how in the world she was able to stay warm in this weather. Sheena was practically soaked from lying in the snow so that didn't help her, but even being outside for an extended period of time would make anyone damp. Maybe she'd ask the other woman later, but right now all Sheena wanted to do was get warm. At first she was hesitant to follow, Ayane's last sentence ringing a little too close to a threat for the ninja's own comfort. But, unfortunately, they were also true, and Sheena knew that without Ayane's assistance she would quickly perish out in the cold.
Setting her jaw, Sheena finally gave a nod and followed after Ayane, wincing slightly at the sharp, tingling pain that came with moving her legs. She could hardly move forward through this thick snow, and now with her legs going numb it was getting even more difficult. Sheena pushed on regardless, not wanting to be put in a position where she'd have to ask for more help. She was stronger than this, d**n it, and she'd been in far rougher snowstorm's before. But again, it all came back to that stupid reason she'd woken up without any proper equipment. Nose wrinkling, the ninja tried to think back as to what exactly had happened before she went to sleep last night.
The day hadn't been anything special. It was pretty much the usual; helping around the village and training to keep her fighting skills sharp. She couldn't think of anything out of the ordinary – it had only been long and very tiring day. So than how did she wake up here, in the middle of who-knows-where with hardly anything but her seals and the clothes on her back. Gaze shifting to Ayane's figure, the dark haired woman considered the female in front of her. Ayane had greeted her rather suspiciously... Her presumption as to why Sheena appeared lost had been eerily close to the truth. Did she know something about as to why Sheena was here?
Sniffling, Sheena gave another involuntary shudder, tightly squeezing her arm in a failing effort to stay awake. This wasn't good. She hoped this shelter that Ayane was leading her to wasn't much farther away. She was getting far too close to passing out now. “W.. where are we, anyway?” Sheena asked the violet-haired woman, trying to strike up a conversation to help keep herself awake. Just a little further, a mantra began to loop in her head. Just a little further...

Ayane and Sheena finally entered a small cave, it was dark and damp but it provided good shelter from the cold wind; Ayane wondered why Sheena had been sent here...she didn't know why or by whom but then again Ayane didn't really know a lot of things of how the Celestial beings operate so she couldn't answer that either.
She found the campfire that she had previously managed to create, now extinguished, "Fire Technique: Great Fireball Technique!" she said before she unleashed a huge fire from her mouth which ignited the fireplace, "come near the flame and get dry...you're somewhere within Koori though precisely where I don't know."
((Sorry for the long reply))

Despite shivering quite noticeably now, Sheena peered suspiciously into the cave, as if waiting for a trap to spring out at any moment. Even on the verge of freezing she wouldn't be able to stand the idea of falling into a trap she could have easily noticed before. A natural wariness probably only enhanced by her aptitude for falling into holes. When she didn't see anything that appeared potentially threatening, Sheena clenched her teeth and shuffled into the mouth of the cave. She made a face at the sight of the extinguished fire, growing even more frustrated at the idea it had likely gone out due to her slowness of traveling through the snow.
Eyelids coming close to closing now, the summoner gave a delayed start when a sudden rush of heat burst out from Ayane's direction. Sheena whipped her head to look at what the other woman had done, eyes narrowing even further when she noticed how the violet haired female had conjured the fire. The magic user's in her old group had usually used the spell 'Fireball' to start their camp fires, but Sheena had never seen someone call forth the element with their mouth before. Ayane had called it a 'technique' of some sort... Such an ability surely wasn't from Sylvarant or Tethe'alla, that much was obvious. Or, perhaps, she just didn't know of such a possibility until now? Whatever the case, this woman only just kept getting stranger and stranger by the second.
Eyes flicked tiredly between the newly made fire and the person who had just ignited it, still wary of accepting help from this peculiar stranger. Sheena wasn't going to get any where by denying the woman's offer though, and the idea of falling over right now and taking a nice long nap sounded far too appealing to her right now than it should have been. Easing her way bit by bit to a spot across the fire from Ayane, Sheena lowered herself to kneel by the fire, gaze never wavering off the other woman. The warmth from the fire sent an instant feeling of relief throughout her body, though not without some pain as well. Now that the summoner was regaining sensation within her body, she could once again feel pinprick's of pain the numbness had covered up before. Wincing as she shifted, the female huddled closer the fire and gave a shudder.
Flexing her stiff joints and limbs, Sheena let her eyes leave Ayane's form to briefly scan the cave once more, dark lips pursing with the new found tidbit of information. 'Koori'...? The name didn't strike her as familiar at all. The only place she knew that ever got weather like this was Flanoir, but even then the area they had just trekked through looked nothing like the frozen land she had crossed before in her travels. Still, at least she'd figured out something about this place, even if it was coming from a source she was unsure of trusting. Peering back at Ayane across the fire, Sheena narrowed her eyes at the odd woman, already beginning to feel alert again from absorbing the fire's heat. “You don't know?” She echoed, as if in disbelief, “How exactly do you know where we are then...?” Her question came out a bit more critical than she had intended it to be, but the summoner was genuinely curious (and suspicious) as to how much this woman knew about the world around them. It was possible Ayane wasn't from here either, but it seemed like she was comfortable enough in this place to know about their surroundings, so it was possible Ayane was withholding information from Sheena as well.
