[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, border-left: 15px solid #F2D471; width: 454px; background: #404040] "This doesn't make any sense. Where the hell am I? There's so many fireflies around here.....It kind of seems rather peaceful. Not to mention that the mana around here is far too good to be Sylvarant or Tethe' Alla. I'm pretty sure no place like this exists in Derris-Kharlan either. So where am I? AHASDGHASDLKFHA ARG. Thinking isn't going to get me anywhere! I'll just have to find someone and torture ask them where I am then. B|
huh...where am I?
His head felt so fuzzy and his body felt like it was full of lead. Reaching up to touch his fairly sensitive head he tries to right himself up on what ever he was leaning on. From his other hand keeping him steady it felt rather rough like he was leaning against a tree with some kind of vine around it. Cracking an eye open he winces at the sudden light appears at his face and closes it quickly to cover his face. He felt like utter crap and all he wanted to do was curl up into a little ball. That's exactly what he was going to do before a sudden thought came to his mind. "Why should I be curling up into a ball? I'm better than that! I-I'm not weak." With that he began to open his eyes once again slowly, fearful towards the sudden light that would appear before his eyes again. Yet this time everything seemed to be in a dim light. Fully opening his eyes his mouth opened slightly to gape at the sight before him. Then he started to realize where the sudden light came from. There were fireflies everywhere and now he suddenly understood.
Slowly getting up from where he was seated, he took small steps as he looked around the grove. Taking a moment to look around with an amazed look on his face he looks down at himself to make sure that he's all in one piece. This is not Derris-Kharlan and judging by the mana this isn't Sylvarant or Tethe' Alla as well. Even though Tethe' Alla is in a decline, the amount of mana in Sylvarant could not compare to this place. So where in the world is he? Still looking around with saucer like eyes, he suddenly finds himself falling face first to the ground. "OOF" Mithos says once having understood what just happened. Looking behind him with accusing eyes, he glares at the oh so innocent vine that happen to trip him. Getting up quickly and with a dangerous gleam in his eyes he points his hand at the vine as mana starts to swirl around him. "FIRE BALL!" Mithos yells with little difficulty in charging the spell and quickly burning the vine. Only to have his sight blinded by a firefly buzzing around his face. Flailing around to get rid of the insect from his face he's only met by more starting to fly towards him. It was almost like they were attacking him, but they left no damage on him. Rather make him flail around like an idiot trying to get them away from him.
"ACK!" At this point Mithos was far too overwhelmed to even think of a spell that could annihilate them all. Starting to run away from them, and being blinded by them, he ends up tripping once more onto the ground. Where ever this place is, he hated it already. Now this was his cue to leave the area as quickly as he could. Getting up and swatting away the fireflies, he starts to head towards a direction. Only to find himself even more lost at where he was going and backtrack where he was back to the stupid tree with the crystal inside of it. No matter which way he went, he seemed to feel like he was only getting himself even more lost. If he went right, he would end up near this dead end. If he went left, he'd just end up back where he was some how. When he went backwards he would just end up faced with a face full of fireflies, and the other way was just the stupid tree. He felt utterly lost!
"I GIVE UP!" Mithos cries out defeatedly, glaring at the fireflies. As if he just knew it was all their fault. Dropping down onto the ground, he sits there with his arms crossed. A very unhappy look on his face as he tried to think over what he should do next, but when he just sat there with his anger boiling down he could feel the peaceful and serene emotion in the air. It wasn't long before Mithos started feeling rather drowsie. He hadn't fully committed to the no sleeping and eating policy with his Cruxis Crystal and so now his eye lids start to droop. A large yawn coming from his mouth as he rubs his eyes. It wouldn't be a bad thing to take a little nap here, right? It's not like he's going anywhere, and it didn't seem like anyone would come around here anyway. Stretching his arms out and yawning again, he lays himself down. His eyes fluttering close as he slowly fades away into a soft slumber. made by gimmick/echo of OtE, TB, and TC |

The afternoon sun was slowly creeping towards the horizon as the young mage reached the grassy edge of the grove. Looking out onto the large, glowing grove, Genis furrowed his brows. This sure didn't look like Kessho. This wasn't even a city! Looking down at the map he had clutched in his hands, the boy genius became a little flustered. He knew he wasn't the best at map reading, but seriously! He had left the Lumos inn early this morning, and it was already dusk. He felt like he was just walking in circles (and unknown to him, he really was). That old guy from the inn must have given him a fake map. Well, he did look a bit sketchy with the hood and the trench coat and all. I really need to stop being so trusting of people who give away free stuff... Grumbling a few inaudible vulgarities to himself, Genis began turning the map around in frustration. He looked at it vertically, horizontally; heck, he even looked at the back to see if that would make more sense. But, no matter how he looked at he, he couldn't make any sense out of it. That was, until he noticed a small copyright at the bottom right corner of the ancient looking map.
"THIS MAP WAS MADE 300 YEARS AGO!" Genis couldn't help but scream out his frustration over being given such an outdated map. No wonder he was so freakin' lost! Scowling, the boy proceeded to rip the ancient piece of paper in tiny fragments to channel out his anger over the whole incident. With that done, he brushed his hands together and let the pieces fall to the ground. Now that he had rid himself out that, it was time to get moving. He would just have to manage getting along himself.
A few minutes of wandering around the grove later, and Genis was worst off than when he started, if that could even happen. For being called a grove, this place sure was pretty big. He had tripped over a countless number of vines and was sure he had swallowed at least three fireflies. He really hoped they didn't make his stomach start glowing or something. Letting a hand fall to rest on his abdomen, Genis carefully tiptoed over the gnarled roots that were in front of him. Okay, new goal for boy genius. He didn't want to get to Kessho anymore, he just wanted to get out of the d**n grove! Sure, it was pretty and the fireflies made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside (especially when he accidentally ate them), but it definitely wasn't someplace he wanted to be stuck in for the rest of his life.
Sighing, Genis decided it was probably best to take a break to gather his thoughts. That's what Raine would have done anyways, and she was usually right about these sort of things. Leaning up against the nearest tree, the young mage let himself slide down the trunk to softly land on the ground below. A few fireflies flew up from the grass beneath him and hovered around his face. Scrunching up his nose in response, Genis turned his head to the side so he wouldn't be blinded by their glowing rear ends behind so darn close to his eyes. It was then that he noticed it. Is that vine...burnt? The boy turned his head a bit to the side in confusion. It looked freshly charred too. Was someone out here destroying the grove?
Feeling a sudden burst of heroic valor (probably induced from hanging out with Lloyd so much), Genis decided to go investigate into who or what had burnt this vine. Walking up to the vine, he noticed a few broken roots heading off in one direction. That was most likely down by whoever had burnt the vine. Grabbing onto his kendama for assurance, he proceeded to follow the vague path, doubling back a few times to make sure he was heading in the right direction. Eventually, the wannabe hero found something...something he definitely was not expecting.
Lying in a small opening of the grove in front of him was another boy, around the same size as him. Genis crossed his arms in front of him and put a very skeptical look on his face. What was someone like him doing here? And secondly, why was he feeling such an overwhelming sense of foreboding and deja vu? Shaking off the odd feeling, the stubborn boy began inching towards the sleeping boy. "Hey." He said rather quietly at first before taking a bold step towards the sleeping figure. "Hey! What are you doing sleepin-" Just then, Genis finally got a good look at the boy. That outfit, that hair, that face; it all looked like...no. No, it couldn't be! There was no way! He was dead! He saw him die...he aided in that death. Yet here he was, the friend who betrayed him so harshly before, lying so innocently in front of him.
"M-Mithos?!?!"

I let my guard down....
His body didn't ache anymore and his head felt like it was resting on something soft. He could feel a soft wind blowing with the smell of something familiar coming to his nose. The wind carried a soft melody that seemed all too familiar as well. He couldn't help but smile when he started to remember how this seemed so ..right. Fluttering his eyes open his blue eyes look at the forest green hair that fell from the woman's shoulders. He could hardly see her face, but he could tell that she was the reason for the soft melody. The sound of her panpipe lifting in the air making his chest start to ache. His eyes started to mist up and a small whipmer came from his throat. The melody stopped as forest green eyes gaze down at him as a smile appears on her face. "Mithos? Don't cry. I'll always be with you." She says. Lifting the panpipe back again to her lips. Letting the sweet melody dance in the air once again. How much he yearned for her. He missed his sister so much that his heart felt like breaking right now. His vision blurred at the thought of why his beloved sister was no longer with him.
"Don't cry, Mithos." She says putting the panpipe away. His hand rose up slowly from his side as he puts the hand against her cheek. Her hand comes up to hold his own against her cheek as that beautiful smile of hers shines on him. She was so beautiful, but something seemed wrong about her face. He couldn't put his finger on it, but there was something wrong with how she looked at him now. It didn't seem right. "M-Martel?" He says out in an uncertain manner. His hand reaching up more to brush away the the green hair that hid some of her face. His hand immediately recoiled as his mouth widened in shock. A scream choked in his throat as he stared in horror at the sight of Martel. Her eyes were wide and bloodshot with a creepy smile on her face. Blood was pouring down from her eyes like she was crying red tears! "Mithos? What's wrong? Aren't you glad to see your sister?" She asks in a sickly sweet voice.
This is not his sister. She may look like her, but it isn't! It couldn't be! A murderous scream finally erupted from his throat as he rolled away from her and clawed at the ground to get up. At once his once beautiful sister now turned witch rose up quickly with that disturbing smile on her face. "Mithos. Don't leave me. You don't want to see your sister?" She calls out in that sickening voice of hers that was NOTHING like his sister. He gave another cry as she stalked closer to him.
His breathing came out in gasps as his heart beat at an alarming rate. His eyes snapping open to see a scenery different from that gruesome scene. It was only a dream. Of course! There was no way that could have been his sister. Raising his hands up to his face to slightly cover it he began to laugh lightly before it escalated. It almost seemed as if a laugh someone would make that lost a bit of reality, but to him he just felt relieved. Yet as quickly and unprepared his laughing came, it stopped abruptly as he felt the mana in the air. He wasn't alone.
He keeps his hands on his face as he quickly thinks over what he should do. Due to his hazy mind he had not heard the kid say anything least bit his name. Then with a sudden burst of energy, Mithos propels himself backward in a roll to jump up to his feet. His palm pointed towards Genis with a serious expression on his face. His mana fluctuating to show that he wouldn't hesitate to let loose a magic spell. Since the other was a Half-Elf he would know that, right? Or perhaps his elven blood wasn't as strong to tell that? It seemed rather strong, but most humans can have strong mana signatures and have zero clue about mana. "Who are you?" Mithos demands. Not realizing that he should probably ask the half-elven kid if he knew the way out of here, but this is Mithos' usually temper talking. Angry mostly that he had let someone like that guy to catch him sleeping. Of course if Kratos found that out, he wouldn't hear the end of it. His old master had always jibbed him about his sleeping like the dead. "Well!? I won't hesitate to blast you if you try anything. I-I'm not weak!" Mithos yells, but his voice had cracked at it. He kept a brave face on, but no matter how many times he's gone into battles. They were always with someone, but he was alone this time. There isn't any Kratos or Yuan to have his back. made by gimmick/echo of OtE, TB, and TC |
