Waldenwood Prep – a luscious, sprawling campus located in the heart of New England – a gorgeous and reputable school steeped in tradition. While the Waldenwood staff may enforce tradition, honor, and academic excellence, the students seem to have other plans.
Once a school where the children of (more or less) aristocracy worked hard and played harder, the recent US economic downturn has led to decreased enrollment and naturally scholarships. Waldenwood’s first year offering athletic, artistic, and academic scholarships begins now – but that doesn’t mean the Waldenwood elite are going to take any of this lying down.
Waldenwood boasts a rather progressive housing system: if you maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, excel in your chosen required sport, and contribute to the campus and surrounding community (having extra cash doesn’t hurt either), you have the opportunity to live in one of the beautiful Victorian houses that have perched on campus since the school’s 19th-century inception. Different houses tend to have different reputations, and each house’s prefect certainly works to keep the riffraff out. Undoubtedly, this sparks some tension – especially among students who don’t receive a coveted place in a house and must live in the unkempt dormitories. But is it enough to kill? Surprisingly so. Although that may have more to do with money and opportunity than the houses themselves – but who knows.
If you can handle it, Waldenwood is waiting.
